Water Violet

Botany: Hottonia palustris
Preparation: Sun Method
Represents: Humility

The water violet personality is marked by a quiet, reserved approach to life. Water violet people make good teachers and are strong leaders. They have a strong sense of self and this often translates into the aura of self-confidence and self-assuredness that less confident people find extremely attractive.

Water violet people actively seek wisdom and in the negative water violet state this wisdom often mutates into a feeling of moral superiority. But rather than try to share their insight with others, negative water personalities will withdraw and become aloof and detached from the world around them.

In a negative water state, a person becomes so seduced by her own specialness that a haughty inner pride can develop. When pushed too far or when the emotional demands of other become too great, the negative water personality will withdraw both physically and emotionally from a situation.

Imagine a woman working as a counselor in a high-stress office. The woman's drive to understand the "human condition" and her desire for wisdom encouraged her to pursue counseling as a career and she is especially good at listening to others' complaints.

On a regular basis, though, the stress of listening to other people's problems becomes too much for her and the woman is left feeling "stressed out" and overwhelmed by the emotional drain. To make her situation worse, she cannot bring herself to ask for help because ultimately she cannot admit that she put herself in this position.

This woman is in a negative water violet state. Like other water violet personalities, she would rather "tough it out" than admit a flaw. Though she was not the one who put herself on the pedestal, she has a hard time getting off, nonetheless.

The Positive Water Violet State

People in a positive water violet state are dignified, reserved people. They have a "to each his own" look upon life and do not need to judge others to feel better about themselves. Positive water personalities make solid, dependable relationships but can sometimes seem aloof to others.
