Scleranthus is the flower of inner balance and certainty. Souls in a positive scleranthus state use their intuition and trust it implicitly. They possess an inner calm and confidence in their decision-making that enables them to become fantastically focused leaders.

The negative scleranthus state is characterized by wild swings of indecisiveness. Negative scleranthus personalities know no middle-ground; it is all or nothing with these souls. They love you or hate you; they attach a project with absolute gusto only to abandon a few days later.

These souls are somewhat like those in a negative cerato state except for one fact--the negative ceratos pester others into making a decision for them. Negative scleranthus personalities, by contrast, fight their battles solely within themselves. They do no ask for--or accept--the advice of others.

Imagine a young woman decorating her new apartment. She pops into the local paint store, falls in love with a paint chip and orders 4 gallons of it. She then rushes home and excitedly begins to cover the walls with her new favorite shade of blue.

A week later, though, she looks at her newly-painted walls and wonders what in the world she was thinking. She really should do her walls in the wallpaper she saw at her friend's house the evening before. Paint looks so plain.

A few weeks from now she'll stumble upon some new faux-painting technique and the entire redecorating process will begin anew.

This woman is in a negative scleranthus state. And, unfortunately for her, it permeates her entire life. Her resume is a mis-mash of short-term jobs and the puppy she just had to have 6 months ago is now nothing but a burden she has to clean up after. Her string of ex-boyfriends are still wondering why she left them for the latest love of her life.

The Positive Scleranthus State

The positive scleranthus state is marked by the ability to make good, firm decisions and trust those decisions. Souls in this state are focused, balanced and firm in their resolve. They are not stubborn; they are flexible enough to adjust with changing situations. But they also take comfort in making the best decision they can.
