Rock Water

Botany: None
Preparation: None
Represents: Flexibility

Like the deep clear river that inspired the remedy, rock water personalities are busy, active individuals who are always on the move. They have high personal standards and can be astoundingly disciplined in their attempts to achieve personal perfection.
They thrive on being an inspiration to others and, in a positive rock water state, are great motivators.

In a negative rock water state, however, this drive for personal perfection is taken to an extreme. Negative rock water personalities cannot accept the idea of personal failure. "No one is perfect," is not in their vocabulary.

What sets rock water types apart from other high-minded personalities is that they tend to impose their high standards only upon themselves. They are not usually judgmental of others. Rather, they prefer self-martyrdom and go to great lengths to demonstrate it.

We've all known people in negative rock water states. Imagine a woman who gets up every morning, rain or shine, to run her 3 miles. She then sits down to a homemade breakfast then sets out to clean her entire home before leaving for work.

During her spare time, this woman reads work-related books, watches only news programs on television and maintains a strict diet of "healthy" foods. Her neighbors marvel at how well she keeps her lawn but secretly joke that she must eat nails for breakfast to make that face all the time. They've never seen her eat too much, drink more than one drink at a party or lose her temper.

This woman, with her "perfect" mask firmly in place, is in a negative rock water state. She has been so busy trying to reach personal perfection that she has almost forgotten how to have fun. She doesn't make spontaneous decisions and she never, ever loses her composure.

The Positive Rock Water State

The positive rock water state is characterized by a strong, disciplined approach to personal growth. But it is also a state which allows for changing one's stance if circumstances warrant. Unlike the negative state, the positive rock water state does not just pursue perfection for perfection's sake.
